You’ve probably heard of resilience. Anyone who is an entrepreneur, or intends to be one, needs to pay special attention to this word.

After all, I consider this to be one of the most important virtues for anyone who intends to embark on the path of entrepreneurship. And that’s why I decided to write this article to talk a little more about it. I hope you like it!

What is resilience, after all?

Resilience is the ability to get up after falling. You know when life seems to throw you a curveball, but somehow you find the strength to keep going?

That’s what being resilient is. And it’s not just about enduring difficult times, but learning from them and becoming stronger. I always like to think that resilience is like a muscle: the more we train it, the stronger it gets.

Every time we face a challenge, we have the chance to grow and prepare ourselves for the next ones. And believe me, they will come, but with resilience by our side, we will be ready.

The path to success is paved with setbacks

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but success is rarely a straight line. More often than not, it’s full of ups and downs. You’re going to fail sometimes – and that’s okay. I’ve failed countless times myself, and each time has taught me something I needed to learn.

What sets people apart who achieve long-term success is not the absence of failures, but how they deal with them.

If I had given up after every setback, I probably wouldn’t be here now sharing this experience with you. And I’m sure you’ve been through situations like that too.

Persistence: the ally of resilience

Resilience goes hand in hand with persistence. When you have a clear goal, the path can be challenging, but you have to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Sometimes we want quick results, but success that’s truly worthwhile is built over time.

Well, none of them got there without resilience. They persisted, believed and, most importantly, did not give up in the most difficult moments.

As CEO of SEDA, I am very proud to present the Spanish for All Project, a transformative initiative that aims to democratize the teaching of Spanish throughout Brazil.

Created in partnership with NL College, our project offers affordable courses for young people and adults, providing a new opportunity for educational and professional growth.

Why did we create the Spanish for All Project?

The idea for the Spanish for All Project came from my passion for education and my conviction that learning a second language can open incredible doors.

In Brazil, Spanish has gained relevance, whether due to its proximity to Latin American countries or due to business opportunities and cultural exchange.

However, many Brazilians do not have access to quality education in the language, and this was the great motivator for creating this initiative. My desire has always been to bring opportunities to as many people as possible, and this project is an extension of that vision.

With scholarships of up to 100% offered, we are ensuring that people from all regions of the country can have the chance to learn Spanish in an accessible way, without financial barriers.

How does the course work?

Our course is 100% online and has been structured to meet the needs of different student profiles, from beginners to advanced, which means that anyone, regardless of their current level, can start and progress at their own pace.

We use an intuitive teaching platform, available 24 hours a day, so that students can learn according to their schedule, which is a great advantage for those who work or have other commitments.

The most important thing for me was to ensure that the teaching was of quality, and to achieve this, we have native teachers, who bring not only their command of the language, but also the culture of their countries.

In addition, upon completing the course, the student will receive an international certification, which will certainly add value to their resume and open up new opportunities.

Selection process and scholarships

One of the most rewarding parts of the Spanish for All Project is our commitment to inclusion. We offer a simple selection process, where we assess the candidates’ profile and their level of Spanish.

From there, scholarships are awarded based on financial need and test performance.

And the best part: these scholarships can cover up to 100% of the course fee, allowing low-income people to also have access to a quality education.

Our social impact

For me, one of the greatest legacies that SEDA can leave is its social impact. By launching the Spanish for All Project, we are not only teaching a new language, but also helping to transform lives.

With more opportunities in the job market and easier connection with other cultures, I believe that we are contributing to the formation of a generation that is more prepared and confident to face global challenges.

The importance of Márcio de Deus’ project

Márcio de Deus has dedicated his life to improving opportunities for the youth of Cidade de Deus, one of the most challenging neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro.

He offers these young people not only sports activities, such as jiu-jitsu, but also access to important values, such as discipline, respect and focus.

Márcio’s work goes beyond the mat; he aims to inspire these young people to seek a better future, showing them that there are different paths to follow.

That is why I support this project with such enthusiasm, because I believe in the potential of these young people to go beyond the limitations of their reality.

SEDA Kids: bringing English to Cidade de Deus

With the launch of SEDA Kids, I wanted to bring more than just technical knowledge to these children. Our goal was to offer something that could inspire them to dream big and expand their horizons.

That is why I sent Márcio’s students coloring and reading books, aimed at learning the English language.

Learning English can be a key to opening many doors in the future, and we want to give these young people the opportunity to build a solid foundation for their personal and professional development.

Education as a bridge to the future

Learning a new language is just one of the tools these young people can use to transform their lives. By learning English, they gain the ability to communicate with the world, expanding their study and work opportunities.

That is why, more than just the language, these materials represent hope. It is a way of showing them that someone believes in their potential and is willing to invest in their future.

Looking back today, I see that we not only achieved that goal, but also went beyond. We have welcomed more than 17,000 students of different nationalities, each bringing their own culture, stories and aspirations.

SEDA has become more than a school; it has become a global community, where students from all over the world connect in one place.

Celebrating inclusion and social impact

Throughout our journey, we have always believed that education has the power to transform lives. This principle has guided initiatives such as the scholarship program for Ukrainian refugees, which began in 2022 at a time of great need.

Since then, we have awarded 280 full scholarships, offering not only education but a new chance at life for these individuals. This is just one example of how SEDA has committed to inclusion and social responsibility.

And now, to mark our 15th anniversary, we have launched the “SEDA Kids” project, a series of children’s books that make learning English more accessible and fun for children aged 2 to 10.

For me, this project is especially meaningful because it is not limited to classrooms in Ireland; we are taking these books to underprivileged communities in Brazil, expanding our social impact.

This system is based on three fundamental principles: reduce, reuse and recycle.
