Why did we create the SEDA Jobs Club?

-

A little over a year ago, we created the SEDA Jobs Club. We are still on this journey, but I have great prospects for this project.

Then you ask me: but Tiago, why did you create the SEDA Jobs Club? The truth is that I noticed that one of the biggest pains of those who are going to do an exchange program is the difficulty in getting a job here.

In fact, this was one of the difficulties I felt when I came to Ireland. And that’s why I decided to create this service to help students.

How does the SEDA Jobs Club work?

The SEDA Jobs Club is a panel where the student can access and see which vacancies are available. We recently partnered with the Noel Group Dublin to increase the number of advertised vacancies.

Thus, the student who is looking for a job, either because he has just arrived in the country, or because he was unemployed recently, will be able to find what he needs.

The process is very simple: you fill in the necessary fields to find the partner that complements your ideas, and shows people who are looking for a job in the country.

So you get all our professional support, either with tips for finding a job, or even pointing out courses to impact your resume.

The importance of this guidance to students

What I see is that this type of service is very important for the exchange student. After all, when he arrives in the country he is a little lost, even disoriented.

The most common doubts are: where will I get a job? How can I find a job if I don’t even know how to speak fluent English?

These unanswered questions often stop the student who does not know which way to go. Therefore, I see how important this support is.

Well, as soon as the student arrives in the country, we already advise him to get to know the SEDA Jobs Club, and there he will have all the necessary support.

Looking to make a difference

With this initiative, we at SEDA seek to make a difference in the lives of students. We seek to make them feel more welcome when they arrive in the country.

We know culture shock is hard. And that this can cause some psychological disturbances, even for being away from the family.

So I see that this reception favors a better adaptation of the student here in Ireland, thus preventing him from feeling helpless.

We are still at the beginning of the project, and therefore, the vacancies announced are few. However, as it grows, our expectation is that there will be a substantial increase in advertised vacancies.
