Today I decided to write a chronicle about the movie The Founder. After watching this work, I found it very inspiring, and I bring a little of what I learned from it.
In general, in the film we are introduced to the incredible story of Ray Kroc (brilliantly played by Michael Keaton), the ambitious salesman who transformed the modest restaurant of the McDonald brothers into a global empire.
The film, while a complex and in many ways critical representation of American capitalism, can also be seen as a source of inspiration, highlighting the tenacity, vision and willingness to take risks that are necessary to achieve success.
Ray Kroc’s Persistence
Through Ray Kroc, we see persistence personified. His life hasn’t been an easy road to success – he started out as a milkshake machine salesman, traveling across the country, facing rejection after rejection.
However, he never let that discourage him. Over time, he saw something special in the McDonald brothers’ method and was willing to do whatever it took to make their vision a reality.
Thus, “The Founder” inspires us to be persistent and resilient in the face of failure. I saw what he went through during his journey and I really identified with it.
Innovation and thinking outside the box
The film also reminds us of the importance of innovation and thinking outside the box. The McDonald brothers, Richard and Maurice, impressed Kroc with their innovative method of food preparation, which they called the “Speedee System”.
This system revolutionized the fast food industry, reducing wait times and improving efficiency. Without this innovation, McDonald’s might never have become the powerhouse it is today.
Another inspiring lesson we can learn is the courage to take risks. Kroc took a big risk when he decided to turn the McDonald brothers’ restaurant into a franchise. Try to imagine that back in the 1950s.
He risked his own money and reputation, he faced skepticism and resistance, but he never gave up. So the film shows that taking risks is often a crucial part of the road to success.
A film that serves as a warning
However, “The Founder” not only inspires, it also serves as a warning. While we are fascinated by Kroc’s indomitable spirit and his commitment to the American dream, we also see the dark consequences of his actions.
In his relentless pursuit of success, he tricks the McDonald brothers into losing control of the business they started.
Thus, the film reminds us of the importance of maintaining ethics and integrity, even when we are chasing our dreams. And this I think is crucial in any area.
So The Founder is more than just the story of how McDonald’s became a global empire. It’s a vivid portrayal of the entrepreneurial spirit, showing the tenacity, vision and courage it takes to succeed.
However, it also reminds us to consider the consequences of our actions and the importance of treating others with fairness and respect.
In this way, the film becomes not only a success story, but also an important lesson in life and leadership. And have you watched this movie?
