How many times have we heard phrases saying: life begins after forty. Or, I’m too old to start something new.
But is there really a right age for life to begin again? How many examples of overcoming at the end of life have we seen?
I will give you an example that you certainly did not know. McDonald’s, today one of the largest franchise chains in the world, was created in 1955 by Ray Kroc.
And do you know how old he was at that time? 52. That’s right, he started the business at an age that most people want to be retiring by now.
At 55, three years after the beginning of the chain, McDonald’s has passed the mark of 100 million hamburgers sold.
Mistake in choice cannot inhibit your dream
A big mistake most people make is believing that because they chose a profession they don’t like, they can’t start over.
It is no problem to change in the middle of the course, or when you start working, to conclude that it was not the right choice.
Living a life in a profession you don’t like just because you are afraid to start over is the worst mistake you can make.
So, what I have to say is that if you don’t like what you do, change it. Regardless of whether you are 20, 30, 40 or 50 years old.
Nestlé Milk Flour
Another story I also like to tell and which is very inspiring is the Nestlé milk flour. It was invented in 1867 by Henri Nestlé.
And do you know how old he was at the time? He was 52. He was a pharmacist and he began to observe the numerous problems of malnutrition that many people were facing in Switzerland.
He then created a powdered mixture that would supplement children’s diet and this was the birth of Nestlé Milk Flour.
Today it is just one more of the thousands of products marketed by the company which has more than 30,000 employees and is present in approximately 150 countries.
The most consumed soft drink in the world
If I ask you which is the most consumed soft drink in the world, can you answer me? Chances are that the image of Coca-Cola has come to your mind.
It was invented by John Pemberton when he was 55 years old. The soft drink formula was discovered while he was testing medicines for stomach pains.
These small examples serve as a reason for you to understand that it is never too late to start again, regardless of how old you are. Your dreams are still alive inside you.
