Each person has a dream world, an infinite sphere of possibilities where anything imaginable can become.
Every thought, every wish, every longing that occurs in the human mind is a sign of hope, a ray of light that illuminates the darkness of reality.
And the chronicle I wrote below is a testament that if there is a dream in your mind, it can come true. Hope you like it!
Determination
Ana was a girl born and raised in a small country town who always felt a little out of place. While her friends talked about marriages and children, she dreamed of skyscrapers and neon lights. She wanted to live in the capital.
Opportunities in the small town were limited. People used to say that her dreams were too big for such a small place. But that didn’t stop her. She knew that if there was a dream in her mind, it could come true.
And so, with her heart throbbing with hope and her mind full of dreams, she started saving. She worked during the day at her uncle’s grocery store and studied at night in a neighboring town.
It was difficult, exhausting, but every penny saved, every page studied, put Ana one step closer to her dream that was about to come true.
Patience and persistence
It took years, but Ana saved enough money for her trip to the capital. The small town seemed even smaller in the rear view mirror of the bus, but she knew she wasn’t leaving her home behind. She was heading towards her dream.
When she arrived in the big city, she immediately felt out of place. The buildings were much taller than she imagined, people were talking too fast, and everything just seemed so confusing. But she had a dream, and she was determined to make it come true.
She got a job at a coffee shop and rented a small apartment. Life in the big city was tough and Ana often felt small and insignificant. But whenever doubt started to creep in, she remembered her dream.
Adaptation
Over the years, Ana began to adapt. She met people, learned to navigate the busy streets, and began to understand the fast-paced language of the big city. She was finally starting to feel at home.
She was promoted, became a foreman, then a manager, and finally a director of a large multinational. Her dream that seemed so far away had come true.
And so, one warm summer night, she climbed onto the roof of her apartment building. Looking at the starry sky above the skyscrapers, she realized that she had fulfilled her dream.
The big city, with its challenges and opportunities, had become her home. Ana realized that, in fact, if there is a dream in her mind, it can come true.
Dreams are more than destinations, they are the journey
Ana also understood on that hot night that dreams are not the destination, but the journey. That the true value of a dream is not in its realization, but in the person we become by chasing it.
And so, as the big city slept beneath her, Ana smiled up at the stars above. She was living proof that we can get where we want to be. And she knew with every fiber of her being that her journey was not over.
She had many other dreams to fulfill. Some bigger, some smaller, but all equally important. She knew that, no matter the size of the dream, if it exists in her mind, one day it will come true.
And that was the most beautiful and powerful truth of all. It was the truth that got me out of Brazil and made me who I am in Ireland, and it’s the truth that can transform your life. Just believe!
