How to deal with a sudden job loss?

-

We are living in times of mass unemployment, especially in the technology sector. And dealing with such a situation is not easy.

A lot of people get angry, decide to vent on LinkedIn and this is not always well seen by employers. Far be it from me to make judgments or want to dictate what everyone posts on their social media.

Everyone is free to express themselves. My only intention in this article is to reflect on this situation that affects our psychology a lot.

Build your emergency reserve

If you’re still employed, what I have to say is: strive to build your emergency reserve that equals approximately 6 months of your salary.

It is very important to keep the emotional balance of a job loss. You can be sure that having a reservation, you will feel less distressed.

Especially if your work regime is PJ. In these cases, the despair is even greater in the face of a dismissal, since there is no security.

The ideal if you operate in this system is to have a more diversified customer base and charge for production, so if you lose a customer, you will always have another to hold the bar.

Keep your emotional balance

Faced with a difficult situation such as unemployment, it is common for us to despair. After all, we look into the future and all we see is uncertainty ahead.

At that moment, take a deep breath and don’t take any hasty action. Organize your day to send resumes and take care of your mental health.

Do a meditation every morning, set aside time to play sports and always keep the positive thought that everything will work out.

By letting yourself be carried away by negativism, your despair will be even greater, and you will find yourself without alternatives on what to do from then on.

Activate your networking list

Finally, look for the people closest to you who are in your professional environment and expose your situation. Show that you need a job.

I know that a new occupation doesn’t always come quickly, but suddenly, you can find a new path, discover a new profession, and relocate faster in the market.

If you have debts, the solution is to negotiate them and not take out a loan to pay them. This way you avoid them becoming a snowball in your life due to interest.

As difficult as the situation seems, know that the storm passes, the good times come back and in the end everything settles down. Do you agree?
