It’s been almost a decade since I arrived here in Ireland. When I came, my dream was just to improve my English and go back to Brazil to get a better job.
I didn’t know that life would put me to live here for so long. Overcoming the initial difficulties, I managed to undertake in the country, and found one of the largest English schools in Dublin.
I know, however, how difficult it is to start a business here. And I also know that many Brazilians are coming to Ireland with the intention of trying a new life.
Because of this, together with other local entrepreneurs and the country’s government, we decided to take an important step and founded the Chamber of Commerce between Brazil and Ireland.
Chamber of Commerce between Brazil and Ireland
The official launch of the Chamber of Commerce will take place on April 30th, but the platform is now available to be accessed by clicking here.
Our intention with this initiative is to attract the attention of the Brazilian government to entrepreneurs in Ireland, so that viable solutions can be found to scale the businesses of hundreds of Brazilians who live here.
In this endeavor, I had the honor of meeting Marcel Biato, Brazilian ambassador in Dublin, who was very clear when he said that Brazilian businessmen in Ireland generate economic activity for both countries.
Just to illustrate, Brazilian businesses in Ireland employ approximately 2,200 people, which generates annual gross income close to 99 million euros.
Unity is strength
Our intention with the Chamber of Commerce is to help all entrepreneurs who want to establish themselves in the country. And that’s why we’re going to provide all the informative material, as well as legal support for them.
The project is only in its initial phase and that’s why we are only 20 members at the moment, but we intend to reach 150 by the end of this year.
In fact, what we want is to be the first point of contact between the countries, breaking down prejudice among the Brazilian business class and showing how many gains we can generate for the country when Brazilians are guided to undertake here.
Above all, we want to change lives, show those who dream of living abroad that it is possible to undertake and prosper here in the country.
My real intention is that people who arrive here do not have to go through the same initial difficulties that I went through.
I’m sure that over time we’ll attract a lot of attention, and as a result, we’ll help hundreds, or even thousands of Brazilians who are looking to start a business in Europe, but don’t have the necessary support.
