If I ask you how are your company’s results today, what would you answer me? Be honest.
Many people do not achieve the results they want, and they think that the problem is in the technique used, in the product that is not so good or even in the saturation of the market.
The truth is that there are several factors that interfere in the result, but the main one is undoubtedly good teamwork.
Being a leader is not a simple task. It requires a great deal of emotional intelligence, as well as empathy for others. What is more…
Being a leader is not being a boss
It took me a while to understand some things in life. One of them is how to be a better leader. And that was in practice!
When I started SEDA I was still relatively young. And like all young people, I had my impulses and jumps, which made me a boss and not a leader.
If I launched a campaign and the results did not come, I had great difficulty in standing out in the face of adversity.
It was at great cost that I realised that technical knowledge is not enough if you really want to make a difference in the world.
You need to understand that you are an eternal learner.
It was only after I saw that I need to change my posture a lot, become calmer, more patient and empathetic towards my employees that I carried the bridge that separates the boss from the leader within me.
From then on I stopped doing so many postgraduate courses, and not that this is not good, but I started to dedicate myself more to self-knowledge courses.
You only change if you know yourself. And since then I have identified many flaws in my profile as a leader. That’s where the challenge begins…
After you recognise your weak points, you need to improve them and then you have to develop a strategy to achieve this.
Understand that strategy is the path by which you seek to achieve a goal. And mine was every morning to review my behaviour of the previous day.
Without effort no one changes
Even today, when I wake up, I look at what I could have done better the day before, and so I am leaving behind the boss I always was, to become a leader.
Those who think that a leader already knows enough to stop learning are mistaken. The more you grow, the more you will have to push yourself.
So, what I mean is that after you become a great leader, your team starts to admire you and play by your side.
You don’t ask for respect, you earn it. And from then on the teamwork flows much better, and it is directly responsible for the results I have today.
